Hard maple and bubinga cutting board 9" x 10"
Hard maple with bubinga pin stripes! Square corners.
Unless otherwise noted, our boards range in thickness between 5/8" - 3/4".
Our boards are handmade in Knoxville, TN. We start with rough sawn wood. All milling and processing happens in house. Each piece of wood was carefully chosen and placed in your board to provide a beautiful strong cutting surface that will last you a life time!
We use hard maple and various exotic species of wood. We layout each board by hand. Each piece is oriented to highlight its individual grain, texture and personality.
We only use food safe glues to build our boards. Once we finish hand sanding your board we soak it in food grade mineral oil for 24 hours and then wax it with our blend of beeswax and mineral oil. Small “wet” looking areas is normal on a new board, simply wipe it off with a paper towel.
Cheers to many years of happy chopping!
Care for your board:
- To clean your board use mild non-abrasive dish soap and pass under running water to
rinse. Do not submerge in water. Towel drying and store it up on edge. Laying flat will not allow both sides to dry evenly which can cause warping.
- Depending on use you will need to periodically re-wax and or re-oil your board. You can apply a generous coating of mineral oil by hand or with a micro fiber cloth. Our wax is also available for purchase.
- Your board was built by hand, please wash it by hand. It is not dishwasher safe.
- When re-oiling, only use mineral oil. This is a readily available product at any grocery store or drug store.
